Haines Hunter SF660 VS SS660

Haines Hunter SF660 VS SS660 | Haines Hunter

Perfect for serious fishing or diving trips, the Haines Hunter 660 models are also superb family boats that deliver adventure in style and comfort.

Both the SF660 and SS660 are large-volume trailer boats that combine a generous-sized cockpit with a large forward cabin. High sides make the cockpit feel secure and offer useful safety advantages, especially with children aboard, and a backdrop or camper canopy is available to enclose the cockpit.

Underneath, the 660 models have Haines Hunter’s signature Deep V hull which is set at precisely 21°. It’s the ideal angle to knife through waves for the smoothest possible ride. At the same time, longitudinal “strakes” provide lift and throw spray away from the boat – keeping the deck dry. This legendary Haines Hunter hull design makes a huge difference to the comfort of all on board and delivers a performance that’s nothing short of thrilling.

The SF660 (soft top), can be ordered with an optional factory Stainless Steel Bimini Top, complete with rocket launchers, and if you want to take it a step further and turn it into a serious blue water game fishing machine, add a built-in live bait tank in the transom and game poles to chase those game fish in the summer months.

The helm area can be enclosed by fitting clear, zip-out drop curtains across the top of the windscreen and around the sides. The Sport Fishing Bimini Top can fold down by quickly removing a couple of pins. This can give you the ability to store the boat under cover or in a garage when you get home from your day out on the water.

Step aboard the hardtop version of the 660, the SS660, the GRP hardtop provides protection from the sun or rain above, and the wind in front – extra ventilation can be sought via the sliding side windows on either side – while optional roof hatches can also be opened when the conditions are right. Additionally, the SS660 Sport Sedan can also be optioned with an enclosed forward cabin. Great for extra privacy should you need, and providing an extra layer of security if you are wanting to lock up the boat, store equipment, rods and reels etc. Let’s not forget, add the centre infill squab, and you’ve got a double berth big enough for two people to overnight!

Like the SF model, you can also add additional rod holders above, a live bait tank and game poles to create a game fishing machine ready to land the biggest fish from the deep.

The standard 660 comes with twin soft rider pedestal swivelling seats, however, should you wish, we do offer an option of our famous and comfortable back-to-back deluxe seats. Or you can opt for a combination of the two!

Like the rest of the Haines Hunter range, smart-looking Ultralon Marine Decking can be added as an option, which gives a softer feel underfoot, is durable and very easy to clean and maintain - Domed-in marine carpet is an option too.

The 660 is an extremely comfortable, well appointed vessel which can be trailered around New Zealand to your favourite spot hideaway. It can be optioned with a factory fitted 2-burner stove, cockpit table and electric toilet to keep you on the water longer.
